TERMS / VERSION 1

Terms

Effective August 27, 2026

These terms govern your use of Version Replay. The open-source CLI is provided under the MIT License. The additional terms below cover the website and one-time Pro unlock.

Permitted use

You may use Version Replay to store, inspect, and replay HTTP fixtures you are authorized to handle. You are responsible for choosing appropriate redaction rules, securing your vault and passphrase, and following the data-protection obligations that apply to your fixtures.

Local replay boundary

The tool intentionally restricts replay destinations to loopback hosts. Do not modify or use the software to send personal, payment, or confidential data to systems you do not control.

Pro license

A $29 one-time Pro purchase unlocks batch replay and JUnit reports for CI on your own developer devices. It is not a subscription. The token is licensed to the purchaser and may not be resold or publicly shared. Core capture, redaction, encryption, individual replay, diff, and export remain available without payment.

Billing and refunds

Sociobot/Dodo is the merchant of record. Checkout, tax handling, receipts, and refunds are handled there. A refunded or charged-back purchase automatically revokes its license. The hosted checkout presents the applicable billing terms before payment.

No warranty

The software is provided “as is,” without warranty of any kind, as described by the MIT License. A successful replay is evidence about the fixture and local service tested; it is not a guarantee that every provider event or production condition is compatible.

Changes

Material changes to these terms will be published here with a new effective date. Changes do not convert an existing one-time purchase into a subscription.

Contact

Questions can be opened in the Version Replay repository. Never include a license token or real webhook payload in a public issue.
